What is the Dark Side?

As an Organization Development (OD) consultant, I have often made use of the Jungian concept of the Inferior function, which is the undeveloped component of an individual's character and is largely unconscious. This function is sometimes referred to as the "dark side." This concept is sometimes used by OD professionals who use the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). The MBTI is used to gain insight and to help us understand personalities and behaviors in our efforts to bring about change with people and organizations. I have also found it useful to apply the concept to groups while keeping in mind that, as with all models, there are limitations.

Feedback and comments are welcome on all my blogs.
